About us

We strive to create an accessible form of STEM education for students from
all cultural, racial, and socioeconomic identities.

Our Story

Coding Cosines© is a nonprofit founded by two high schoolers from Irvington High School. We were inspired to develop this organization after witnessing the disparity between those who have and those who do not have access to STEM education. STEM programs cost thousands of dollars outside, allowing only students with a higher socioeconomic status to benefit.

Both founders have extensive experience in Computer Science, mathematics, and scientific research. Our teaching team consists of highly experienced high school students, who have conducted research in topics such as Computer Vision, Optics, Photonics, and Deep Learning at universities such as UC Berkeley, UCSF, and the University of Waterloo.

Our Academy

We teach weekly classes at the Milpitas Library on all STEM subjects. Students are exposed to advanced math concepts and computer science. At the Milpitas Library, we have formed a math league and a robotics team, both of which are preparing for the next MathLeague and FIRST Robotics tournaments.

Currently, we are expanding our reach by outsourcing our curriculum to various schools and organizations. We are extending our programs to various libraries and elementary schools across the Bay Area, and we are organizing volunteer events and seminars to expose more of the community to STEM.
